George DiCarlo
• Olympics: 1984, Los Angeles
• Local Connection: Attended the University of Arizona from 1981 to 1984.
• Known for: Won the gold medal in the 400-meter freestyle in the 1984 Games. Also took silver in the 1,500-meter freestyle. While at Arizona won the NCAA national championship in the 500 freestyle in 1983 and 1984.
• Current: Earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida. He also works as a motivational speaker and an advocate of amateur athletics.
