• Local connection: Competed in swimming, diving and water polo at the University of Arizona from 1978 to 1980
• Known for: In the 1976, he won silver in the 400-meter freestyle. In 1984, he won another silver for water polo.
• Current: Shaw is working as an adaptive physical education teacher at Estancia High School in Costa Mesa, Calif.
