There were 900 bicylists registered for the event with 579 riders in the 73-mile portion; 232 in the 27-mile portion and the rest involved in the fun ride and bike patrol, according to race officials.

She had been crying because her hair got caught when her helmet was removed, her father said. He had it pretty rough too.
