Tapping maple syrup

Mike Jacque tapped maple trees on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Jacque's Sugar Bush near Thorp, WI as maple syrup season gets under way for the business. Jacque will tap about 1,800 maple trees a year. "I'd be surprised if we're not cooking on Monday," he said. Jacque and others say they are expecting this to be a strong year for maple syrup production after unseasonably warm weather took its toll last March.
