What: Ben’s Bells promote kindness and community involvement. Each week a person who makes Tucson better is “belled.”
Last week’s recipients: Lise Slavik, Mike Camp and Kathryn Pellegrini, employees at Trader Joe’s on East Grant Road.
Nominated by: Marilyn Bender.
Why: For helping a stranded motorist outside the Trader Joe’s where they work. Bender said after her car broke down, the employees tried to jump-start it, helped her call for a tow truck and then drove her home. Upon leaving, the employees gave her a bouquet of flowers.
“I am so grateful to each of them for their kindness,” Bender wrote in her nomination letter.
