Former Catalina Foothills High School standout Justen Glad was named to the United States U-20 roster Friday for a tournament in Serbia in early September.
The defender will be part of a 23-man team that begins training Sunday in Subotica, Serbia. The Americans will open the Stevan Vilotic-Cele Tournament against Serbia on Sept. 3, before traveling to Senta for a match against France on Sept. 4. The team will conclude the tournament with a placement match Sept. 7.
Glad, who was a first-team forward on the Star’s All-Southern Arizona team in 2012, returned to action this year after missing a stretch at the end of last season with a knee injury. He has started six matches for Real Salt Lake this season.
