Tucson's Miraval Resort & Spa unveiled its newest spa this month, in partnership with Clarins skin-care company.
Here are some highlights of the "Life in Balance Spa With Clarins" at Miraval, 5000 E. Via Estancia Miraval, as described by the resort in a news release:
PHILOSOPHY
"With a focus on sustainability, the new spa's luxury is not about excess, opulence or lavishness but rather embraces the manta 'life-enhancing minimalism.' "
DESIGN
Working with Mithun Architects and Clodagh Design, Miraval is "creating a seamless blend of indoor and outdoor relaxation spaces."
For example: "The welcome walkway leads to an enormous bowl of round stones from which guests can select to build their own personal Miraval cairn in one of three long steel troughs filled with tactile pebbles. An outdoor haven of fragrant native plantings, sage, wild lavender and deer grass flanks the path to the entry door where a long reflecting pool mirrors the Arizona sky."
