Old Pueblo Coin, which has been serving local numismatists since 1982, has moved into a larger space at 4255 E. Speedway.
The new location, on the northwest corner of Speedway and North Columbus Boulevard, is just a block away from Old Pueblo's former site at 4420 E. Speedway.
Falling real-estate prices had a hand in the move to the new location, which at about 2,300 square feet is more than twice the size of the former shop.
Old Pueblo founder and owner Rob Weiss said he had been eyeing the corner building as a prime location on and off for 20 years, but it was beyond his means.
After a hearing-aid business closed there a couple of years ago, the building was up for sale, but the asking price was still too high, Weiss said. But when the owners dropped the price in December, Weiss said, he made an offer and ended up buying the property for $220,000.
