- Tucson Realtors Charitable Foundation: During 2016, the foundation raised $45,000 from several signature events as well as donations from Tucson Association of Realtors members. In October, the foundation held its 10th annual golf tournament which netted $9,000 with the proceeds benefiting the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona. The check was presented on Feb. 3. Tucson Realtors Charitable Foundation’s mission is to assist the community by enhancing its quality of life through financial programs, education, and housing-related initiatives and community activities.
- Wheels For Kids: The organization celebrated its 2,000th bike delivery earlier this month. Wheels For Kids was founded by Dick Swain in 2007 with a vision to put a smile on the faces of kids who didn’t think they would ever get to experience the joy of riding their own bike. The all-volunteer, nonprofit organization collects used bikes, completely overhauls them, ensures they work well, look good and are safe to operate. Wheels for Kids then partners with charitable organizations to distribute the bikes.
