Tucson’s average gas price dropped below $2 this week, while statewide and nationwide averages dropped, according to AAA Arizona.
About a quarter of gas stations nationwide are selling gas for less than $2 a gallon, AAA say.
This week, Arizona’s statewide average price fell 3 cents at $2.21 per gallon of regular on Thursday. Nationwide, prices dropped more than 3 cents to $2.186.
Tucson’s average price, the state’s lowest, fell more than 4 cents in a week to $1.97 per gallon on Thursday, while some stations sold gas for under $1.90.
Flagstaff had the state’s highest average price, at $2.43 per gallon.
