Chipotle restaurants are opening late on Monday, Feb. 8, as employees of the national chain's nearly 2,000 locations take a refresher course on food safety.
And while they are closed, On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina is slipping in to fill the gap in the Mission burrito genre.
The fast-casual Mexican food chain will introduce its To-Go Burrito Boxes on Monday. You can get a burrito or a Border Bowl, filled with cilantro lime rice, black beans, bell peppers, queso fresco, shredded lettuce, pico de gallo and sliced avocado. Depending on the meat you choose — chicken or beef — the price is $5 or $6 on Monday.
Tucson has one On the Border restaurant at 5205 E. Broadway.
