McClintock's, the über-upscale restaurant tucked in the financially-troubled Saguaro Ranch in Marana, has closed for the summer.
Owner Stephen Phinny did not return phone calls seeking comment and a man who answered the phone had no further information.
McClintock's opened in spring 2007 with a menu that married an organic mentality with steakhouse sensibilities. The menu is a hybrid of American grill (steaks, chops and seafood) and pastaria (spaghetti, rigatoni and Bigoli made a little more contemporary with Muscovy duck confit).
The restaurant is among Tucson's most expensive: Appetizers start at $9 for a single crab cake and top out at $25 for a chef's selection cheese platter. The least pricey entree is an $18 rigatoni with Italian sausage; a New York steak sets you back $46.

McClintock's is not part of Saguaro Ranch's ongoing bankruptcy and foreclosure proceedings.
Saguaro Ranch is a 1,035-acre exclusive, upscale development that was to have featured multi-million-dollar homes, a gated resort, a second upscale restaurant, an amphitheater and recording studio, and celebrity residents, some whose homes reportedly were to have had heliports.
But the development quickly fell into financial trouble a few years ago.
