This one-mile run is the kick-off to the St. Patrick's Day Parade.

Hennessy’s father was the first to dress as the famed saint in Tucson’s parade for the first 10 years of the celebration. The parade went along Stone Ave and through downtown to Armory Park, the site of the festival. Irish music, dancing, children’s games, food and merchandise abounded. There were also Irish organizations, ethnic and cultural tables set up throughout the park as well.

Around 500 revelers with the theme “Building Bridges….celebrating the diverse cultures of Tucson and Southern Arizona.” Local food vendors located at Armory Park will include corned beef and cabbage sandwiches from Dante’s Fire.
