Five of Tucson's weirdest and wildest margaritas
Cinco drinks to get your Cinco de Mayo on the right track.
Tough Luck Club's Zihuatanejo
It's a tequila drink, but the Zihuatanejo, $11, at the Reilly's basement bar Tough Luck Club isn't your regular margarita. It gets its funky flavors from blue raspberry brandy, ginger syrup and the tropical fruit guanabana, otherwise known as soursop. It's topped with pineapple leaves.
Agustin's Pom Sour
Agustín Kitchen's pomegranate tequila drink the Chef's Pom Sour, $9, is finished with pomegranate balsamic vinegar from Queen Creek Olive Mill. It's also a winner of Tucson's World Margarita Championship.
Tortilla at Agave Fest
The Tortilla by Club Congress bartender Keith Caywood was topped with sparkling wine and garnished with lemon. The drink was created for the Roger Clyne's Mexican Moonshine Cocktail Competition at this weekend's Agave Fest.
Playground's El Guapo
Playground's El Guapo, $8, gets its light pink hue from Aperol, an Italian apertif distilled with bitter orange and gentian root. It's rimmed with sweet chile mango.
