Steakhouse to open in Vail landmark
Longtime barbecue caterer Gary Sneva is preparing to open a steakhouse in the former Webb's Steak House in Vail by late July.
Bone-In Steak will serve short ribs, steaks, chicken and chops, among other fare, Sneva said, describing it as a neighborhood watering hole.
The building, constructed in the 1940s as a store and trading post, is getting a freshening up, he said.
Sneva used to own Port-a-Pit Barbecue, which catered everything from Super Bowl VIP parties to the Aspen Fire in the Santa Catalina Mountains, north of Tucson (feeding the hundreds of crew members who fought the 2003 blaze). Sneva said he sold the catering business last year.
