Sonora's white stone Palacio de Gobierno, to State House, is shown through the lacy wrought iron of the plaza band stand across the street. Here Gob. Encinas carries on official business. Liberty bell above the balcony is a replica of the one rung by Padre Hidalgo to start the Mexican War of Independence, and is rung by the governor each Sept. 16 to commemorate that anniversary.
