BULLHEAD CITY — Students at a high school in Bullhead City are mourning the loss of a teacher killed in a hit-an-run accident Wednesday.
Bullhead City police say 43-year-old Larissa Jean Castilleja was killed when a vehicle hit her as she was riding her bicycle on the Bullhead Parkway. Police said the driver kept going after hitting Castilleja.
Police spokeswoman Emily Montague said officers impounded a 1983 green GMC van.
They also arrested 53-year-old Gino Salvatore Gagliardi of Fort Mohave. Gagliardi was arrested on suspicion of leaving the scene of a fatal accident.
Montague said the vehicle had front-end damage, a flat tire and paint transfer from the bicycle.
Afternoon classes at Mohave High School were canceled Wednesday but resumed Thursday.
