A 50-year-old man who was stabbed at a group home last month died this week as a result of his injuries, police said.
Michael DeWeese was pronounced dead Tuesday after he was stabbed Sept. 29 at a group home in the 1500 block of East Drachman Street, said Sgt. Fabian Pacheco, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.
The suspect, Andrew Garcia, 19, was located in the surrounding neighborhood on the day of the stabbing and taken into custody, Pacheco said.
Garcia is now booked into Pima County jail on suspicion of first degree murder.
DeWeese and Garcia got into a fight over tobacco before DeWeese was stabbed several times, police said.
They both lived at the group home, he said.
