A Pima County sheriff's deputy who got his job back after being fired in 2001 was cited on misdemeanor charges after a worker spotted him urinating in Arizona Stadium Monday morning, a UA police spokesman said.
The UA worker notified campus police after seeing Deputy Joseph Cameron, 46, urinating in a stairwell at the stadium, said Sgt. Eugene V. Mejia.
In 2001, Sheriff Clarence W. Dupnik fired Cameron, known as Joseph Harvey at the time, citing a history of rudeness, rough treatment and unprofessional conduct.
The Arizona Daily Star reported that, at the time, Cameron had more complaints and decorations than any other active deputy. Cameron got his job back after a lengthy legal dispute with Sheriff Dupnik.
When University of Arizona police talked to Cameron he admitted to doing what the worker had seen and told them he was a deputy, Mejia said.

"After talking with him and the witness we determined there was enough evidence to charge him with criminal littering," Mejia said.
Cameron was at the stadium to exercise at the stadium stairs, Mejia said. He cooperated with officers when they spoke with him.
Mejia added that there are restroom facilities throughout the stadium complex that Cameron could have used.
Cameron continues to work for the Sheriff's Department East Side patrol, Bureau Chief George Heaney said. The internal affairs department has a copy of the police report and will question Cameron about the incident.
At that point investigators will determine what discipline -- if any -- is necessary, Heaney said.
