SCOTTSDALE - A small helicopter crashed Wednesday in an area between two homes in north Scottsdale, killing two people on board, a Scottsdale Fire Department spokesman said.
No one on the ground was injured and it doesn't appear there were more than two people on the helicopter, said Dave Cieslak, the fire department spokesman.
The helicopter didn't hit the homes, said Cieslak.
Fire Battalion Chief Chris Schibi said it appeared the pilot tried to avoid any homes. There was no fire and the only damage on the ground was to landscaping, said Schibi.
He said the victims were a man and a woman.
Cieslak said he didn't know what caused the crash.
