A Tucsonan who was named the fastest grocery bagger in the nation is taking his newfound celebrity status to television.
Francisco Palacios, 18, will appear on the “Late Show with David Letterman” on Wednesday night, more than a month after he won the National Bag-off Competition in Las Vegas, said JoEllen Lynn, a corporate spokeswoman for Fry’s Supermarket.
Palacios beat out 23 other baggers from around the nation and netted $2,250 from the competition.
The show will air in Tucson at 10:30 p.m. on CBS, Lynn said.
