It appears the many reminders over the past few weeks were not enough for many Tucsonans who did not take out the trash in accordance to the city's new pickup schedule.
The city's Environmental Services department on Monday said in an e-mail that it appears many residential customers forgot to leave their bins out in the area scheduled for trash service.
More than half of Tucson’s 140,000 residential customers will have their garbage pickup days change beginning today.
The city scaled back its residential garbage collection operation from six days a week to five.
The new routes mean 74,000 customers will have to get used to rolling out their cans on a different day.
Residents can go to www.tucsonaz.gov/esd to enter their address to see if their residential service will change.
