A 16-year-old who was shot by police after burglarizing a home and pointing a gun at an officer will be tried as an adult.
Ricardo Galindo was booked in to Pima County jail on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer, two counts of burglary, theft of means of transportation and misconduct involving weapons.
His friend — 17-year-old Michael Larin — is currently being processed as a juvenile, however a petition has been filed to have his case transferred to adult court as well.
Court records released Thursday show that Galindo has had numerous run ins with the law as a juvenile with 14 referrals on file.
He also has a history of violent or assaultive behavior and drug use, the court records state.
Galindo was shot in the leg by Tucson Police Officer Steven Pupkoff Monday. He was released from a hospital after undergoing surgery and booked into the Pima County jail Wednesday.

Galindo and Larin were taken into custody after a neighbor reported seeing the pair break into a home in the 4100 block of East Linden.
They left the home before police arrived in a stolen Jeep Cherokee, which was later spotted by officers near Pima Street and Columbus Boulevard.
When police tried to pull the boys over, they both jumped from the moving vehicle, allowing it to roll into the back of a car, Tucson police said.
Larin who was driving, ran towards an alley. Galindo started to run away and pointed a gun at Pupkoff, at which time Pupkoff shot him in the leg.
Galindo and Larin have admitted to breaking into the house through a window and Larin said the pair took the vehicle together, according to an interim complaint.
Galindo also said he had the handgun when he was shot — the handgun that Larin said he had during the burglary.
Larin has previously been arrested on criminal damage and assault charges, according to the Pima County Juvenile Court.
