If you’d like to meet George, the gentle Great Dane who may be the biggest dog in the world, you will have your chance at Morris K. Udall Park between 2:30 and 3 p.m. today.
Owner Dave Nasser will bring his 42.5-inch tall, 245-pound dog to the park in a publicity stunt to put out an open challenge to Boomer, the Landseer Newfoundland in North Dakota whose owner is trying to get the pooch listed as the world’s tallest dog in the Guinness Book of World Records.
“We’re throwing down the gauntlet to Boomer,” said Nasser’s friend Paul O’Rourke, who is helping him get the attention of Guinness World Records.
The park is at 7290 E. Tanque Verde Road.
