LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. — A Lake Havasu City man has been identified as the pilot killed in the crash of a single-engine plane in Southern California.
Guisseppe “Pino” Puzzo died when his Beechcraft Bonzana crashed in a field after he missed his first approach to McClellan-Palomar airport in Carlsbad on Sunday morning.
Federal Aviation Administration officials say Puzzo was going around to make another landing attempt when he crashed in foggy weather.
The 41-year-old had been working as a pilot for a Lake Havasu City company. He worked as an information technology specialist for Lake Havasu City in 1999 and 2000.
