• 86% of Americans buy candy during the Halloween season.
• 4% of all candy is consumed on Halloween day.
• Eating one 1.69 oz (47.9 g) pack of M&M's is the sugar equivalent of three Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
• $4 billion is spent on candy.
The National Retail Federation has a more modest figure for Halloween candy in 2014: $2.2 billion.
