A driver responsible for crashing into several vehicles while trying to flee from a traffic stop Friday morning on Tucson’s south side has been booked into jail.
Donald Terry, 30, was booked into Pima County Jail on Saturday night for two outstanding warrants and charged with four counts of aggravated assault, misconduct involving weapons, possession of narcotic drugs for sale, possession of dangerous drugs for sale, and unlawful fight from law enforcement officer.
Additional charges may be added, according to a Tucson Police Department news release.
At around 11:45 a.m. Friday, officers pulled over a truck, related to an ongoing felony investigation, to a Walgreens parking lot on the southwest corner of West Ajo Way and South 12th Avenue.
Terry, the driver of the the vehicle, attempted to flee by putting the tuck in reverse and accelerating, according to police. He struck several vehicles and rammed an occupied car, pushing it towards the parking lot’s exit until he struck another vehicle and was able to dislodge, said Sgt. Kimberly Bay, a police spokeswoman.

Officers involved in the traffic stop followed Terry on foot and fired their guns in an effort to stop the truck.
Terry drove east on Ajo Way, colliding with one vehicle at the intersection of 12th Avenue, he continued this route he collided with another vehicle at 6th Avenue and Ajo. At least nine vehicles, including a patrol car, were involved in the accident.
Several people were taken to nearby hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
Terry was detained and taken to a hospital in serious condition. He survived his injuries and was booked into Pima County Jail after being released from the hospital on Saturday night.
