Three people were killed and one was injured in a rollover Friday on Interstate 10 at South Houghton Road, authorities said.
Three passengers in the SUV that rolled — two women, ages 59 and 65, and one man, age 70 — were thrown from the vehicle, and were pronounced dead at the scene, said Quentin Mehr, an Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman.
The driver in the one-car crash was a 64-year-old man, who was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Mehr said.
Names were not released pending notification of family.
The crash occurred shortly before 3:30 p.m. on westbound I-10.
A preliminary investigation showed that the SUV drifted to the left, and then the driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll, Mehr said.
