Green Valley residents living in the San Ignacio Golf Course area are urged to curtail outside activities and to refrain from walking dogs after residents reported they were attacked by a coyote.
Pima County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Deputy Dawn Barkman said four residents have been bitten while in their own back yards since last Wednesday. In each case the coyote entered the yards through an open gate or came over a fence.
Barkman said the Sheriff's Department is working with the Arizona Game and Fish Department to find the coyote. She said Game and Fish will remain in the area until the coyote is captured.
Although there is no evidence the coyote is rabid, all the victims are undergoing rabies treatment and caution is urged, she said.
Barkman said the affected area includes the San Ignacio Golf Course bounded by the Interstate 19 frontage road on the east, Via Montana Vista to the west, Calle Tres on the south and Camino Encanto on the north.
