Blowing dust and wind gusts of up to 40 mph are possible from scattered thunderstorms that will form around Tucson-area mountain ranges this afternoon and evening, the National Weather Service said.
Most of these storms aren’t expected to produce much in the form of precipitation, the weather service said, though an increase in moisture heading into the Fourth of July weekend could soon result in raindrops falling on the city.
Tucson International Airport is still awaiting its first measurable rain resulting from the monsoon, which officially began June 15 but to this point has only resulted in a few localized storms throughout Southern Arizona.
