The Diaper Bank of Southern Arizona received a donation of 500,000 diapers last week as part of a grant from the National Diaper Bank Network.
The diapers will be distributed to families in need through the local bank’s 53 partnering agencies in Southern Arizona.
In 2016, the local diaper bank distributed more than 1 million free diapers to 13,000 families in need in the Tucson area.
“According to calculation by the National Diaper Bank Network, infants and toddlers wear, at minimum, an average of 50 diapers per week,” said Alison Weir of the National Diaper Bank Network.
