Lightning struck a building at Rincon/University High Schools shortly after 1 p.m. Monday, blowing apart several cinder blocks and strewing them across a patio, a TUSD news release said.
The lightning stuck the education building, which is in the center of the campus, at 421 N. Arcadia Blvd., the release said.
Principal Kimberly Babeu evacuated the area around the building about 10 minutes before the strike because of the lightning.
School continued on its normal schedule. Students were at lunch during the strike, the release said. No injuries were reported.
