Questions to consider before adopting a pet
● Why do you want a pet?
● Do you have time for a pet?
● Can you afford a pet?
● Are you prepared to deal with special problems that a pet can cause, such as flea infestations, clawed furniture, messes while house-training and medical emergencies?
● Can you have a pet where you live?
● Is it a good time to adopt a pet or are you a parent with young children that require all your attention, a student or in the military, or do you travel frequently?

● Are your living arrangements suitable for the species and breed you have in mind?
● Do you know who will care for your pet while you're away on vacation?
● Will you be a responsible pet owner and have your pet spayed or neutered, leashed and licensed, and provide it with love, companionship, exercise, healthy food and regular vet care?
