The April 29 show is sponsored by the Associated Students of the University of Arizona and any profits will benefit student scholarships, ASUA President Tommy Bruce said Tuesday.
"We've been building up to a stadium show for the past three years," said Bruce, the event organizer. "We are thrilled."
The concert, dubbed the Last Smash Platinum Bash, also includes '90s rockers Third Eye Blind and rising pop act the Veronicas.
Tickets, which will range from $26 to $200 and will go on sale Friday at asua.arizona.edu University of Arizona students can buy tickets starting at 9 a.m. Everybody else will have to wait until noon.
The production's cost will exceed $1 million, Bruce said. Any losses would come out of the ASUA budget, which does not include student fees or tax dollars.

ASUA presented Kanye West's Glow in the Dark Tour last April at McKale Center. The sold-out show was the first concert at the campus arena in more than a decade.
The Last Smash will be the first concert at Arizona Stadium since 1977, when 67,000 fans flocked to see Fleetwood Mac.
Only 17,000 or so seats will be sold for the upcoming concert. The stage will be set up on the sidelines, facing west, so as not to damage the turf.
Steve Kozachik, the UA's assistant athletic director for facilities and capital projects, said he didn't anticipate any problems.
"They're coming to our house, they're going to play by our rules," Kozachik said.
As for the performers, New York City's Jay-Z is one of the most successful rappers of all time. Clarkson, whose latest album recently debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, was the first "Idol" winner and has sold millions of records.
