A security guard working at Park Place Mall late Saturday night recognized a sexual assault suspect sleeping on mall property and alerted a Tucson Police Department officer who was working there, according to TPD.
Carl Anthony Parris, who was recognized from social media posts, was arrested without incident and booked into the Pima County Jail for one count of kidnapping and six counts of sexual assault, police said.
Parris was wanted in connection with a assault on a female security guard near the University of Arizona on Saturday morning.
The guard reported a male physically and sexually assaulted her while she was conducting security checks at a housing complex on North Park Avenue near East Speedway Boulevard, police said.
After speaking to the guard and collecting evidence from the scene, the police were able to identify Parris as a suspect and were actively searching for him before he was spotted at the mall, police said.
