- What:
- Ben’s Bells promote kindness and community involvement. Each week a person who makes Tucson better is “belled.”
- Last week’s recipient:
- Marvin Bernstein.
- Nominated by:
- Sarah Boroson.
- Why:
- For his volunteer work as a lay facilitator of a bereavement group, Widows and Widowers, that meets weekly at the Jewish Community Center. Bernstein makes sure each person can express their feelings in confidence and that any way to grieve is acceptable, Boroson wrote in her nomination letter. He provides social events for those who have recently lost a spouse, including a lunch after each meeting and a play and dinner once a month. “He is a faithful, conscientious, reliable, and respectful person, always available to those in need,” wrote Boroson in her letter.
