More than 100 booths will be set up at Tucson Medical Center today for the 11th annual Be Safe Saturday, an event that promotes the safety and wellness of Southern Arizona children.
The focus of this year’s event is water safety, with an emphasis also on child passenger safety and sports safety.
To make the event fun for children, information about water safety will be offered on a beach — a special treat for kids in Tucson.
Safe Kids Pima County and The Tucson Police Department will be conducting car-seat checks from 9 a.m. to noon.
Community partners taking part in the event will be offering a number of services and giveaways, including free booster seats, bike helmets, child identification fingerprinting and concussion screenings.
