Radio stations join Bashas' food drive
Bashas' supermarkets are teaming up with local radio stations and the community for a statewide food drive this month. One hundred percent of donations will benefit local food banks and St. Vincent de Paul.
Eighty-two Bashas' stores throughout the state will take part in this "Hunger Doesn't Take a Vacation" food drive, selling $1 icons at their cash registers through Aug. 31.
Donors will have the chance to win prizes, such as Arizona "Staycations," water park passes, movie passes and concert tickets.
Bashas' supermarkets in the Tucson area are at 2000 W. River Road, 3275 N. Swan Road, 6900 E. Sunrise Drive, 15310 N. Oracle Road, 8360 N. Thornydale Road and 100 S. Houghton Road.

29 teens involved in service projects
Twenty-nine teenagers participating with Amigos de las Américas are returning from various service projects in Latin America.
These local youth joined more than 650 other teens and young adults from throughout the United States and other countries to volunteer on public health, education and environment projects.
The local students, including where they volunteered and what high schools they're from, are:

19th Annual Baby Fair set at TCC
The 19th Annual 94.9 MIX-FM Baby Fair will take placefrom 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Grand Ballroom of the Tucson Convention Center, 260 S. Church Ave. Admission is free, but parking is $4 at the TCC parking lots.
Attractions include a puppet show, magic show, balloon artists and staged events including a Diaper Olympics and a Diaper Derby.
Derby participants will be competing for a $150 gift certificate to Babies "R" Us.
Diaper Olympics participants will be competing for a crib and bedding from Babies "R" Us.
There also will be seminars presented by staffers from Tucson Medical Center and University Medical Center.
Children ages 8-13 can participate in the Play N Trade Guitar Hero contest for a chance to win a trip to Magic Mountain, including airfare and hotel.
