A 73-year-old man suffered several hundred bee stings after trying to kill a swarm outside his eastside home Friday morning.
The man had gone outside to spray the bees with pesticide when the swarm attacked him covering him from head to toe, said Capt. Jeff Langejans, a Tucson fire spokesman in a news release.
The man went back inside his home in the 4700 block of South Paseo Melodioso, near Houghton and Escalante roads and his wife called 911 at 10:46 a.m., the release said.
The man was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.
