A bear that took up residence in a tree for more than 10 hours in a Hereford neighborhood, south of Sierra Vista, finally came down and headed back to the Huachuca Mountains.
The bear was spotted at 11 a.m. Tuesday near Arizona 92 and Hereford Road, said Arizona Game and Fish Department spokesman Mark Hart. The 2-year-old male had climbed 20 feet up the tree, where authorities monitored him. He came down at about 9:30 p.m., after a crowd of bystanders and media left, Hart said.
