A Florida man wanted on child porn charges was caught Wednesday night trying to cross the U.S.-Mexican border into Nogales, Ariz., an official said Thursday.
Timothy O'Keefe, 48, is accused of downloading hundreds of images onto his home computer of children engaging in sexual acts, according to a news release from the Volusia County Sheriff's Department.
O'Keefe's arrest is the culmination of an investigation that began in January when someone complained about finding child pornography on a photo-sharing Web site, the release stated.
Officials were able to trace the Web page to O'Keefe and two weeks ago a search warrant was executed at his Daytona Beach home, the news release stated. O'Keefe was cooperating with investigators, telling them they would find pornographic images on his computer, but said he did not take any of the photos himself.

Investigators seized two computers, computer disks and additional hard drives, the news release said. On the disks, more than 430 pictures and videos containing children believed to be as young as 7 or 8, and in some cases toddlers, engaged in sex acts.
On Monday, a warrant for his arrest was issued, but O'Keefe was nowhere to be found.
He was caught Wednesday around 10:30 p.m. at the DeConcini port of entry while traveling with four children and his wife, the news release said.
O'Keefe is in custody at the Santa Cruz County jail on suspicion of 14 counts of possession of sexual performance with a child, according to the news release. He is being held on $14,000 bond.
