The Team Cholla Foundation’s annual golf event raised $67,000 this year to support programs at the Tucson Boys and Girls Clubs.
The foundation has now raised about $250,000 for the clubs.
The Cholla Cup fundraiser included a main golf tournament Feb. 20 with over 120 players at Forty Niner Country Club.
After that, 22 two-person teams played for the next six days at golf courses such as Arizona National, Starr Pass, Ventana Canyon and El Conquistador before finishing the event at Sewailo on Feb. 26.
The foundation organizes a golf event every year to raise money for nonprofits that help children.
This year, the foundation received the “Click for Kids” award that recognizes organizations that make an impact on children.
The foundation began a few years ago as a small group of friends and business associates gathering for golf here and has grown into a charitable organization.
