A 29-year-old man who died after jumping into the water at Tanque Verde Falls Sunday has been identified.
Richard M. Baker, was part of a group of people jumping off the cliffs and into water pools, according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.
The man sustained a head injury and did not immediately come back up to the surface, Deputy Tracy Suitt, a sheriff's department spokesman said in a news release.
Other people in the area jumped in to pull him out and he was unresponsive and not breathing.
Bystanders performed CPR on the man until paramedics from the Rural/Metro Fire Department arrived, the release said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
