Winds buffeted the Gabe Zimmerman trailhead in Vail on Saturday for the commemoration of the 15th anniversary of the mass shooting targeting then-Rep. Gabrielle Giffords that took Zimmerman’s life and five others. Giffords and her husband, U.S. Sen. Mark Kelly, were on hand as dozens of hikers prepared to head down the trails. Kelly said Zimmerman was like a younger brother to her. Giffords added, “Losses hurt. Setbacks are hard. But I tell myself to move ahead.”
