With minutes, if not a second to go before the gates open, kids anxiously line up against the wall at the entrance to the Mission Manor Pool. It was opening day for the southside pool on May 21, 1977. The water still may have been a little cold judging by the reaction of some of the kids once they jumped into the pool, according to the photographer.
