Two U.S. Postal Service collection boxes on Tucson's northwest side were stolen Wednesday.
Officials are offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of the people responsible for swiping the boxes located at 2480 W. Ruthrauff Rd., according to a postal service news release.
The postal service last collected mail from those boxes on Tuesday just before 3:30 p.m. Anyone who deposited mail in the boxes after that time should call the Postal Inspection Service at 877-876-2455 and select option three to file a mail theft complaint, the release said.
The boxes were reported missing Wednesday morning and are being replaced soon.
As a reminder, when depositing outgoing mail in the collection box people should always check that day's collection schedule posted on the box and make sure mail goes in the box before the last posted collection time.
