Partying all night and day is almost always fun — but it's even more enticing when you're doing it for a good cause.
Music students at Amphitheater and Canyon del Oro high schools have teamed up to host Band Dance 2006, a 24-hour dance marathon to raise money for the schools' music programs.
The money will go toward uniforms, travel and other necessities for the concert band, marching band, jazz band, and percussion and orchestra students at the two schools.
Local bands participating include Arlington View, 2-Son Productions, Haleyjane and the Provocative Whites Government Cheese.
The event will be held at the Canyon del Oro gym. It begins at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, and continues until 6 p.m. Feb. 18. It is open to the public on Friday from 7 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
