Pima County Joint Technical Education District Superintendent and CEO Kathy Prather was named one of Arizona’s top 10 school superintendents by Education Insider magazine.

Pima JTED, which has been serving southern Arizona students since 2007, is a public school district that provides tuition-free career and technical education, or CTE, programs for high school sophomores, juniors and seniors as well as residents ages 22 and under without a diploma or GED.
Under Prather’s leadership, JTED has experienced 77% growth over the past five years, a news release says.
“We want students to see themselves on a pathway to success, not simply at the door of a college or university,” Prather said in the release.
According to the magazine, honorees are selected through peer nominations, reader input and a thorough editorial board evaluation.
