St. Philip's in the Hills Episcopal Church presents special music the first Sunday of each month.
St. Philip's Adult and Children's choirs will perform John Rutter's "Requiem" as part of the 9 and 11:15 a.m. services on Sunday.
In celebration of St. Philip's 75th anniversary, Judy Dodge, who served as music director and organist at St. Philip's in the early 1990s, is returning to conduct the requiem.
The music will feature vocal solos by Wendy Peters and Bethany Johnson and will be accompanied by St. Philip's Chamber Ensemble, composed of Tucson musicians Sandy Schwoebel, flute; Sara Fraker, oboe; Theodore Buchholz, cello; Patricia Harris, harp; and Homero Cerón, timpani.
This moving setting of "The Requiem" contains a much-loved setting of Psalm 23.
Dodge began playing for church services as a high school student, majored in piano and music education at the University of Colorado and taught music in the public schools.
