The Pima Animal Care Center, 4000 N. Silverbell Road, is hosting a “pet speed-dating” event Saturday, playing off Valentine’s Day.
From noon to 3 p.m. prospective adopters will be able to spend a few minutes with a few of the center’s “most eligible bachelors and bachelorettes,” according to a press release from the shelter.
People will spend 5 minutes with each pet that meets certain basic criteria, then they can go on a “master date” with their favorite by walking around the park and getting to know one another a little better.
The adoption center is usually closed for Presidents’ Day, Monday, because it’s a county holiday, but this year it will be open for pet adoptions from noon to 3 p.m. that day.
Pet adoption fees will be waived all weekend, including Valentine’s Day and Presidents’ Day, so all adoptions will be free except for the $15 licensing fee if you adopt a dog.
